An ancient crotto transformed into a charming residence
What is now Al Crotto originated from the restoration of an ancient late-19th-century crotto in the heart of Chiavenna. The project, overseen by the owner-architect together with the Emmezeta company, has transformed this historic space into an intimate and modern setting while preserving the authentic soul of Alpine architecture. Natural materials such as stone and wood integrate with contemporary elements, creating a perfect balance between tradition and design.
A restoration that tells the story of the past, reinterpreting it to welcome the present.

Double bedroom

In the bedroom, natural wood envelops the spaces, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere. The surfaces are tactile and the fabrics soft, chosen to naturally enhance your rest.
Light enters through the windows, changing throughout the day and making every moment more intimate.
Mezzanine

The mezzanine hosts a comfortable small double bed, a cozy and charming space designed for children and teenagers.

The living room welcomes you with natural light, comfort, and refined details. The perfect place to slow down and enjoy every moment.

Outside, you will find a private garden surrounded by greenery, an exclusive little retreat where you can enjoy the silence, the hot tub, and the view of the Alpine landscape.
During the summer months, you can find refreshment on the patio located right in front of the Crotto, enjoying an authentic experience in close contact with the local area. There is also a small seasonal vegetable garden and several fruit trees from which, during the summer, you can harvest vegetables and fruit.
Like every special place, this one must be earned
To reach the accommodation, it is necessary to climb approximately 100 stone steps, ancient stairways of the Alpine terraces where vineyards were once cultivated, expertly restored.
For this reason, the apartment is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility or those who prefer to avoid stairs.
